A shopping center in fort canning singapore 2005 购物中心设计

When Toyo Ito proposed the Sendai Mediatheque, the sea weed tube structures are used as overall structure for the thin slabs. In my design, the exploration is that the structure itself is not treated as a service core anymore, it is an urban landscape as binoculars looking into fort canning hill and hill street in a paranoma canvas. The nature environment of fort canning hill is translated to the tree structure with two blocks on two sides as hands stretching towards the urban street.

A baptist church (Nov 2007) 基督教堂设计

A church in a high density urban fabric, fill the space in between the existing structure or retain the urban void? my choice is to rebuke what Rem Koolhaas did to fill-in urban "left over" space(like what he did for a school under a rail track).
Retain and return urban void to the public! This contemporary church is not a chunky block that is so solid and dominant, welcome all the people in while retain the privacy of the church by lifting the congregation hall up. Problem of site: 1. space planning in narrow area. 2. Connectivity and relation to the adjacent building.

A design complex proposed on a quiet site in singapore wessex area.

problem to solve: 1. connectivity. 2. relation of public and private space. 3. how to create a vibrant community while the impact on existing tranquil community is balanced.
